What can I practise with this quiz?
Pick hiragana, katakana or both, then choose a quiz mode and a character group (seion, dakuon or yōon). Each round is ten questions with instant feedback, so a session fits into a few minutes.
Do the characters I get wrong come back?
Not through a full spaced-repetition algorithm. The quiz does weight characters you have answered incorrectly more heavily, and you can see how many characters you have practised and mastered in this browser.
How often should I practise?
Short daily sessions work better than one long one. Ten questions take about two minutes, and most learners find three or four rounds a day enough to keep the characters fresh.
Does it teach stroke order?
The quiz does not include stroke-order animation or handwriting recognition. Stroke order is covered in the written guides, while the quiz focuses on recognition, listening, matching and spelling.
How is this different from other kana tools?
Most kana sites are either a chart or a single flashcard drill. This site puts the chart, four quiz modes, a text converter and an AI tutor in one place, in five languages and without an account.
Can I track my progress?
